Consultations

My Professional Approach

  • Taking a holistic approach, I treat the whole person. Taking the time to get to know you, your life, how your body works, how your mind works, your history and how that all came together to get you where you are today.
  • I can help you manage symptoms and more importantly find out why those symptoms are occurring, sometimes this requires peeling back the layers of dysfunction to get to the root of the matter.
  • I take an evidence-based integrative approach to Naturopathic support and treatment. I recommend tests and therapies which are backed by solid research.
  • My practice includes the extensive use of food as medicine, targeted vitamin and mineral therapy, nutritional advice, herbal medicine, functional pathology testing, methylation support and lifestyle advice.
  • I will coach you through whatever changes are needed, and I will do this at a pace that works for you, whilst understanding that it is necessary to always move a little out of our comfort zone.

What can I expect at my first appointment?

Prior to your first appointment, I send out a welcome email containing important information for your first consultation.

Given the nature of my work, my clients tend to have chronic health issues. For this reason, the first consultation is dedicated to information gathering, I want to get to know you as best I can in order to understand how to help you get to where you want to be - I treat the individual. This first consultation generally takes 90min.

I will ask you to identify the three main areas you wish to address and will discuss your expectations.

I will ask many questions relating to the function of your body, your diet and lifestyle choices. I will examine your tongue, eyes, skin and nails.

Depending on your particular case, I may recommend functional pathology testing which can be organised either through me or your GP (if they are agreeable).

What happens next?

At the end of your initial appointment, I will spend time putting together an assessment of what I think is contributing to the issues you are experiencing, and what needs to be done to address this. At your next appointment (anywhere from 1-3 weeks later), I will discuss my assessment with you, including practical steps you can start implementing straight away to reach your health and well-being goals.

Generally speaking, follow-up appointments are needed more frequently in the beginning as individualising treatment requires closer monitoring and more adjustments initially. However, these will become less frequent over time, depending on your situation. Alternatively, in some situations, follow-ups are not required.

Cancellation Policy

It is requested that 24hrs notice be given when cancelling an appointment for reasons other than unexpected emergencies. Failure to do so will require pre-payment of consultation fees to secure future appointments.

Pre-payment of consultation fees is also required to secure future appointments after three consultations have been cancelled in a row, even when appropriate notice has been given. These policies have been made to ensure this Clinic is able to function in a manner that enables present and future clients equal access to limited appointment times and have been formed in the spirit of mutual respect.
