The Rainbow Diet

For general health, I recommend a Rainbow Diet 80/20, but what does this mean?

It means eating a variety of foods in all the colours of the rainbow. The deeper and richer the colours, the better. 

It also means eating 80% healthy wholesome foods, and allowing 20% intake of foods that come under the 'treat' category. This way you don't feel like you are depriving yourself; an attitude which can lead to self destructive behaviour.

Is it for everyone? Well yes it is. Sure there are circumstances that require an individual to follow 'special' dietary plans to address specific bodily dysfunctions, but the rainbow diet 80/20 can be incorporated into any eating plan. 

The Queensland Government have come up with a great website that easily takes you through all the colours we should be including in our diet, outlines the health benefits from eating these foods, and includes a whole host of healthy nutritious recipes to boot.
